Encouraging Small Businesses

I will support and endorse legislation that creates, encourages and fosters a business friendly environment in which our local economy and businesses thrive and prosper and contribute to the overall quality of life of our County. During the past decade, and promising future advances in technology have forever changed the business climate of many of our County’s residents and small business owners. As a County Councilman, I will stay abreast of advances made in technology that affect how business is conducted and how our County can be prepared for any new endeavors. Home based businesses and telecommuting are examples of business ventures that should be encouraged and permitted to operate. I will support tax credit programs and incentives that encourage business investment in revitalization corridors. I will advocate for legislation that encourages agricultural-related businesses and increases profitability to farming families.
